History
In March 10, 1887, a legislative work is enacted to produce a Northern Branch State Normal School of California. To a lesser degree a year late, Chico is chosen when the location. In June 24, 1887, general John Bidwell donates 8 estate (32,000 m²) of land from either his ruby-red orchard.

In July 4, 1888, the number 1 corner stone is placed. In September 3, 1889, doors open from a Xc enrolled students.

A library open in January 11, 1890 with 350 books. In June 20, 1891 the first graduation go on, the class of Fifteen.

Around 1950, California's governor, allowed state colleges to grant MAs. Around 1951 the college reorganized from Xviii departments into vii divisions by using chairmen. Inside 1975, broadcasts of classes through closed circuit TV was utilized first by residents within Oroville, Marysville and Colusa. Likewise within 1975,The Orion, the campus student newspaper published its foremost issue. Around 1977, the more campus paper, A Wildcat, changed its title to Chico News and Review and moved off campus to get an independent publication. Around 1978 bike riding is restricted from campus.
